Hooking ~

I have been bitten once again by the Hooking Bug ~
but then again, when am I not infected with wool venom?

I'm working on a couple of small too-dads for the web show on sunday evening ~
this one is almost done…

little pumpkin folk

... there is just something about working with that wool…
it pulls you in and wraps itself around your heart.
don't you think?
{of course you do}

yes, I'm working on burlap.
no, it's not my favorite ~ but I will use whatever is at hand.
I prefer to hook on linen….you?

Here is "Old Tom"~
the rug I showed you yesterday….
YES it will be a paper pattern, available soon!!

I wanted to add a little 'something' to the finish of the rug...
 I like the triple-border too.

perfect Autumn colors ~

~~~  I swear I am thee wonkiest hooker I know!
I used an abundance of as-is wools from Heavens to Betsy
for this rug and I love how it all comes together for his feathers….
all of my loops are akimbo ~ heading this way & that ~ but that's OK with me :)
and here is where that little feather ended up…
I used it for his 'beard' !!
"Old Tom" ©Notforgotten Farm ~ L. Brechlin
Will be in the shop today & tomorrow from 10:00 ~ 3:00
resuming our regular shop hours once again ~
Come on out & see me tomorrow,
bring your needlework or hooking with you too!
Wool & Woodsmoke ~
It was so beautiful yesterday…
well in my mind it was ~
soft rain, overcast clouds and chilly.
perfect to me!
We even lit the wood stove to take the chill out of this old farmhouse :)
that was a record, never had it lit in September before!
I took to my wool and started a new little rug:
"Old Tom"
pulling wool through linen
working on the background now ~
my little Hookinpunch© frame comes in handy once again…
little workhorse!
 I just listed 5 more Hookinpunch© frames in my ETSY shop a few minutes ago…
if you missed out yesterday, you can get one now ~
love it
 I'll finish hooking this today, then steam & bind it ~
{{{I have a unique finish in mind for it once I'm done, will share snaps soon}}}
once finished,
this will be available as a paper pattern
~ for YOU to hook :)
~ and ~
DON'T FORGET
that I will be holding a 'Wicked Goode Web Show' RIGHT HERE on this BLOG
this coming SUNDAY (Sept. 28th) at 6:00 pm sharp ~
lots of little Halloweenies coming your way!!
it's the most Wonderful time….
I am in heaven…
this weather makes me come alive!!!
how can one not feel revived, recharged & rejuvenated?
the cooler temps alone help me to be more creative,
let alone the colors of this Season ~
I take my cues from Mother Nature always…
her color combinations & textures are proven winners for me.
saturated colors inspire me ~
simple pleasures
 Of course,
I add my own twist to things around here too,
to help fuel my creativity ~
This FABULOUS flag was a gift from my sister Louisea a couple of years ago…
it proudly flies above my shop high atop the flagpole for all to see my love of Old Hallow's Eve!!
one of my favorite color combinations ~
I've been toting it around the house lately in my basket :)
Gratitude ~
As I sit here
trying to write a post on this blog
about the show here this past saturday ~
I realize just how blessed we are.
everything came together
everything 'worked' this year….
my heart is so very full.
the weather was perfect,
the crowd was fantastic….
the only thing I wish for was that my little shop were BIGGER !!!!
(I do so apologize for it being so blasted hot in there, but yikes! we were crowded, weren't we?)
I am tired. exhausted, really ~ but in such a way as I would do it all again tomorrow.
Seeing you all with those smiles,
getting to put names-to-faces
and receiving wonderful hugs (although quite sweaty!)
was the absolute highlight of the day for me….
ok, enough chatter ~
here are some snaps for you….
this is the shop about 10 minutes before we opened the gate ~
{it was so pretty & neat & tidy…that did NOT last long!}
Let's head outside, shall we??
